Facilities

Classrooms

The university has four main academic buildings housing 20 lecture halls each. Rooms are equipped for standard medical education delivery, projectors, display screens, and seating for the small group format that the faculty uses. Most lecture-based learning happens in these buildings; clinical training moves to the affiliated hospitals.

Simulation Centres

Before students step into live hospital environments, they practise clinical procedures in simulation facilities. These cover physical examination techniques, surgical skills, patient communication, and the emergency response scenarios. The simulation programme progressively increases in complexity as students advance through the clinical years.

Laboratories

The university has dedicated laboratories for subjects like anatomy, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, and pathology. The anatomy museum, is probably the first thing is mentioned in any description of the medical faculty, it holds more than 700 original organs and has preserved human specimens. Students are taken there on their first day, and it remains in regular use throughout the pre-clinical years.

Hostels

Ten residential hostels are available on or near campus. Facilities across the hostels include:

  • Completely heated rooms with 24-hour hot water
  • CCTV surveillance in common areas and building entrances
  • Kitchen facilities on each floor
  • Washing machines
  • Reading rooms in each building
  • Gym facilities
  • 24-hour internet connectivity
  • ATM services nearby
  • Air-conditioned rooms (in select hostels)

Canteens

The main canteen serves food twice a day. There is a special Indian section with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and that is all prepared in separate kitchens. This matters the most and is the major student review.

Recreation Areas

Campus recreation includes an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, football field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a cricket pitch. The university’s green belts and outdoor spaces also function as informal gathering areas during the classes and after the classes. Cultural events, sports days, and university festivals are probably held on campus throughout the academic year.
